Q:  How do I get involved with Servas?

A:   If you would like to become a member of Servas, please contact the representative of your home country (see the list of member countriesPlease include the following information:

  • Are you seeking more information on Servas?  If so, what specifically would you like to know?
  • Do you want to become a Servas Traveller and/or a Servas Host?
  • Do you want to become a Servas Helper?  How would you like to participate in Servas?
  • Include your contact information, including country of residence and phone number
  • How did you learn about Servas?

Q: How do I volunteer for Servas?

A: Not all Servas member countries are accepting new volunteers. To find out how and where you can contribute your skills, contact president@servas.org  

 

 

Q: Is it possible to join Servas while travelling?
A: In general, we ask you to become members of Servas before you go on your trip. In rare cases, there are exceptions, but you must contact list of member countries) to determine if this is possible.

Q: Are the Servas host lists available to anyone accessing the website?
A: No, Servas host lists are not accessible online by unauthorized users. Authorized users can access it in a secured area of the site, accessible only with a valid login and password. This is equivalent to the protection level currently used for printed Host List, which can be acquired only by authorized officers and members.

Q: How long before my travel should I get in touch with the nearest Servas coordinator?
A: This depends on the coordinator's availability and time, since all Servas coordinators are volunteers.  Contact Servas at least four weeks prior to travelling – remember, you will also need to allow time to contact any Servas hosts you plan on visiting.
